Dr Stuart is a Specialist General Practitioner and the Managing Director of The Village, where he works full-time. He has worked in busy general practices in the UK and in Australia, and he loves caring for whole families, getting to know the people behind the problems.

His particular interests are chronic and complex illness, children’s health and men’s health. Under Western Australia’s GP ADHD prescriber pathway he can also assess and diagnose ADHD and prescribe ADHD medicine himself. You can read more on our ADHD page.

Teaching matters to him. Dr Stuart is an examiner for the Notre Dame and Curtin University medical schools and an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Notre Dame. He is also a WAGPET- and RACGP-accredited Clinical Supervisor, mentoring and supervising GP registrars in his daily practice so the next generation of GPs are well trained and supported.

Every second Wednesday he talks health without the jargon on Sonshine radio, and he turns up on Triple M’s breakfast show too. His podcast, What’s Up Doc, is on Spotify and YouTube.

Beyond the practice, he is a Non-Executive Director of Carey Group and sits on various committees and steering groups. Dr Stuart bills privately and gives each patient care shaped around them.

Children who see him usually leave with a small rubber duck rather than a lollipop. There is a story behind the ducks.

Away from work

Dr Stuart is originally from Scotland. He is married to Dr Ellie, who also works at The Village, and they have two children. In his spare time he enjoys woodworking and trying to keep up with his wife and kids. He would like it known that he does not need any more ducks.
