Dr Keen is a Specialist General Practitioner who completed his medical training in Melbourne in 2008. He went on to train extensively at Royal Perth, Sir Charles Gairdner and Joondalup hospitals, across nearly every field of adult internal medicine, as well as emergency medicine, intensive care, geriatrics, palliative care and sexual health medicine.

In 2015 he moved into general practice to care for people in the wider community, beyond the limits of the hospital. He is interested in all of medicine, with special interests in diagnostic medicine and medical imaging, and in treating and managing acute and chronic illness in adults, older people and men. He also takes care to review medicines, and to reduce them where it is safe to do so (deprescribing).

Thanks to Dr Keen, The Village is an accredited Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre, so he is the person to see about travel vaccines.

Dr Keen has trained many medical students and junior doctors, and has examined for UWA and the RACGP. He served for many years as Director of Clinical Services for a large not-for-profit community health service in the South West. He has volunteered on the management committee of the Hudson Road Family Centre and with local council conservation and tree-planting projects. He also works as a consultant doctor for urgent care centres.

Away from work

In his spare time Dr Keen enjoys travelling the world, trying to keep fit at the local gym, dabbling with the guitar, DIY projects around the home, and time with family and friends.
