Dr Adele Austin
Specialist General Practitioner
BN, MBBS, FRACGP
Perth-born family GP, caring for generations of families
Dr Adele is a Specialist General Practitioner, born and bred in Perth. Before coming to medicine she trained and worked as a nurse in a number of countries. She graduated in medicine from the University of Notre Dame in 2011 and has since worked in many hospitals around Perth. She also provides part-time medical services to the Australian Defence Force.
She loves being a family doctor, and considers it a privilege to have looked after several generations and branches of the same family. Her years in nursing, then in hospital medicine, give her a broad base to draw on.
Her special interests are:
- perinatal health, the care of mums and babies around pregnancy and birth
- children’s and women’s health
- chronic disease management
- skin cancer and skin checks
Dr Adele also does simple procedures. These include putting in, taking out and replacing Implanon and IUDs (see contraception), simple skin excisions, and wedge resection of ingrown toenails.
Away from work
Outside medicine, Dr Adele loves hanging out with her children, enjoying the outdoors, and travelling and exploring this beautiful country of ours.
